The independent judging panel for the 2022 Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards has chosen its finalists.
After studying more than 60 entries from businesses and organisations of all sizes working across a wide variety of different sectors, the judges have now revealed their shortlist of the finalists for each of the 12 awards. Garrey Haase, chairman of the organising committee, explained: “After the disappointment of not being able to hold last year’s event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was wonderful to receive such an impressive number of entries from businesses across the Goole and Howdenshire area.
“Our judges had a tough time whittling down the entries to come up with their final shortlist because the competition was very strong, demonstrating the resilience and creativity of the local business community during what has undoubtedly been an incredibly challenging two years.”
It’s hoped that the black tie awards ceremony, which is organised in partnership with the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Goole Academy on Friday, February 25. The event will be hosted by the BBC’s Harry Gration, who has compered the event since it was first launched.
Garrey added: “We will, of course, be watching national developments closely during the coming weeks as we prepare to announce the winners at our event in February, but are hopeful that the event will be able to go ahead with measures aimed at limiting the spread of Covid-19 in place.”
